Jasper (NNDC) – Jasper police say two people have been arrested for allegedly stealing and trying to store an estimated $30,000 worth of stolen items.

Police have arrested 41-year old Ryan Estabrook and 43-year old Eugina Neukam, both of Jasper, for their alleged roles in the burglaries.

At about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, officers were called to the Access Storage facility in the 400 block of South Charles Street.

After making contact with a woman who earlier reported to JPD her unit was broken into and ransacked, JPD officers quickly determined the person or people responsible were still on the property.

Officers located two people who were unloading a truck and trailer of items into two other units including plastic shelving that was reported stolen earlier.

One of the two people officers made contact with was Estabrook who was unloading the shelving.  Officers also determined the 16′ trailer Estabrook was unloading the shelving from was also stolen.

JPD says Estabrook resisted arrest and had to be tazed before before being taken into custody.  Neukam, who was with Estabrook was also arrested.

JPD says all of the items in the couple’s possession were inventoried and the lawful owners were identified.

Among the items… chainsaws, leaf blowers, cordless power tools, a generator, ladders and miscellaneous handtools.    All told about $30,000 worth of items were identified as stolen.

JPD says officers also found 5.5 grams of methamphetamine as well as a syringe, a glass smoking pipe and three other controlled substances in the couple’s possession.

Police says there is still a large amount of items that still need to be identified with their owner(s).  It is believed most of the unclaimed items may be from the Beaver Lake area.

Both Estabrook and Neukam are charged with three Level 5 felony counts of Burglary and one Level 5 felony count of Attempted Burglary.  Both are charged with four Level 6 felony counts of theft, along with a Level 3 felony count of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony count of Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine and three counts each of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A misdemeanor.

Estabrook is also charged with one count of Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
