Jasper Couple Arrested On Theft; Other Charges





Jasper (NNDC) – Two people were arrested after Jasper police responded to a report of theft at a private residence shortly after Midnight Monday (this) morning.

Arrested were 25-year old Jessica Messmer and her roommate 38-year old Shane Fellers.

JPD says their investigation of the reported theft led them to a home in the 100 of East 8th Street.  There they found Messmer in need of medical attention as a result of being under the influence of a narcotic drug.

As officers attempted to help Messmer, JPD says she became extremely combative with officers.At the same time, police say found hypodermic needles in Fellers’ possession.

Police also found medication, a checkbook and keys to a vehicle that were reported stolen earler at the home police responded to initially.

JPD says Messmer was taken to Memorial Hospital for medical clearance.

She is charged with a Level 6 felony count of forgery and misdemeanor counts of possession of stolen property, theft, check deception and resisting law enforcement.

Meanwhile, Fellers is charged with a Level 6 felony count of possession of a hypodermic needle and a Class A misdemeanor count of possession of stolen property.
