gray-largeJasper (Local Sources) – A search will soon begin for a new dean for the Vincennes University Jasper Campus.

Dr. Chris Gray, the assistant vice president and dean of VU’s Jasper Campus, says he will be leaving VU early in 2017 for McHenry County College, a junior college in Illinois.  Gray will become the vice president for Academic and Student Affairs at McHenry County.

Gray (pictured) has been at VUJC since August of 2015.

He came to VUJC after serving as dean of Arts and Communication at Illinois Central College, East Peoria, and three years as division chair of fine arts and program director of theatre at Lincoln College, Lincoln.

“Dr. Gray has given positive, energetic leadership to the Jasper campus since his appointment, especially as the University has worked to enhance service to students and academic opportunities in Career Tech fields at the Jasper campus. We wish Chris well as he pursues this new opportunity in higher education leadership,” said Dr. Laurel Smith, VU Interim Provost.

Smith said she is now working on plans for the transition and upcoming search for a new assistant vice president and dean of the Jasper Campus. “These plans will be announced before the end of this semester,” Smith said.
