Bernadette A. “Daisey” Lueken, 84, Ferdinand

bernadette-luekenBernadette A. “Daisey” Lueken, 84, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (November 20) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born in St. Meinrad February 7, 1932, to Leonard and Clara (Zoglman) Sitzmand. She married James F. Lueken May 6, 1954, at St. Meinrad Archabbey Church.

Daisey was a retired factory worker with General Electric. She also worked for the Dubois-Pike Bookmobile. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, the St. Anne Sodality, Ferdinand Daughters of Isabella, and assisted with the St. Ferdinand bereavement lunch team.

Bernadette is survived by her husband, James Lueken; one son, Jonathan Lueken, Ferdinand; one daughter, Kristine Braunecker and husband Brian, Ferdinand; one sister, Mildred Holtzman and husband Henry Lee, Fulda; three grandsons, Benjamin and Noah Braunecker, and Zachary Lueken; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Sitzman, and one sister, Alberta “Bert” Roos.

Friends may call from 8-10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Church. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m.Tuesday at  St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
