Michael “Soupie” Fischer, 56, Jasper

soupie-fischerMichael “Soupie” Fischer, 56, of Jasper, Indiana passed away Sunday (October 30) at the University of Louisville Medical Center. He was born in Jasper February 14, 1960, to Edwin and Evelyn (Vonderheide) Fischer.

Soupie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He was a truck driver and a caretaker at his home. He was a handyman and a fixer-upper and enjoyed grilling out. He also enjoyed his children, grandchildren, gardening, and fishing.

He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Fischer-Schoenbachler, Huntingburg; two sons, Eddie Fischer and wife Maridel and Dustin Fischer, all of Jasper; his parents, Edwin and Evelyn Fischer, Jasper; four grandchildren, Cameron, Nolan, and Heather Schoenbachler and Alejandro Fischer; one sister, Brenda Wirthwein and husband Bernie, Huntingburg; and one brother, Steve Fischer and wife Sally, Jasper.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with burial following in Enlow Jasper City Cemetery.
