Jeremy “Jay” Edele, 40, St. Henry

jay-edeleJeremy “Jay” Edele, 40, of St. Henry, died Saturday (October 29) at the Indiana University Health Downtown Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Huntingburg April 20, 1976, to Michael E. and Glenda (Fischer) Edele.

Jay was a 1994 graduate of Southridge High School. He served overseas in the United States Army as an SPC during the Gulf War. He worked as a landscaper at Family Roots Nursery, was an avid golfer and Indianapolis Colts fan, and loved spending time with his son, Gavin.

He is survived by one son, Gavin Edele, Huntingburg; his parents, Michael and Glenda Edele, St. Henry; one sister, Angela Blair and husband Derek, Georgetown; his grandparents, Dorothy DeMuth, St. Henry, and Frank Fischer, Sr., Ferdinand; one nephew, Aaron Blair, Greenwood; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cyril Edele, Irma Fischer and Othmar DeMuth, uncles John Edele and Jim Hastings, and aunt, Phyllis Fischer.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry Catholic Church. Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 77. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Jack Durcholz. The Holland American Legion Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.
