Three Arrested After Becoming Combative With Police

Jasper (NNDC) – Three people were arrested Wednesday evening; including one for battery on a Jasper police officer.

Jaser police say about 8:00PM, officers pulled over two mopeds near 6th and Bartley streets.  JPD says when the three people riding on the mopeds were told the vehicles were to be towed from scene, police say the three became disorderly and combatitive with officers.

JPD says one of the three, 28-year old Jonathan Rottet of Jasper pushed an officer and was then placed under arrest.

JPD says as officers were handcuffing Rottet, the other two, 27-year old Christopher Wilz and 25-year old Autumn Redecker, both of Huntingburg continued yelling at the officers even “approaching” the officers.

Police say after an additional officer was called to the scene to help detain Redecker, she allegedly pulled away and refused to comply with the officers’ commands.

JPD says Rottet now faces a Level 6 felony charge of battery on a police officer.  He’s also charged with a Class B misdemeanor charge of Disorderly Conduct.

Both Wilz and Redecker face Class B misdemeanor charges of Disorderly Conduct; Redecker has also been charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.

After being medically cleared at Memorial Hospital, all three were taken to the Dubois County Security Center.
