David W. Vinson, 62, Jasper

david-vinsonDavid W. Vinson, 62, of Jasper, died Tuesday (October 25) at his home. He was born in Princeton June 9, 1954, to Thomas W. And Glenna Sue (Taggert) Vinson. He married Doris Persohn April 21, 1979, in Petersburg,

David was a truck driver for Mulzer Crushed Stone. He retired from the Jasper Fire Department and was an Indiana Fire Instructor. He was a member of IVFA District No.18, Petersburg Moose Lodge No.1617, Jasper Outdoor Recreation, and the Indiana Master Truck Drivers Association. He enjoyed camping and spending time in service for the community and with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Vinson; his mother, Glenna Vinson, Petersburg; two sons, Brett Vinson and wife Jamie, Petersburg, and Brandon Vinson and wife, Leanna, Jasper; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Zoe Meinhart, Petersburg; and one sister-in-law, Karen Vinson, Petersburg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Vinson, and one brother, Thomas R. Vinson.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The Jasper Fire Department and the IVFA District No.18 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. and Petersburg Moose Lodge No.1617 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30, both at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial in Enlow Cemetery. Pastor Boyd will officiate.
