Cletus L. Schepers, 74, Jasper

cletus-schepersCletus L. Schepers, 74, of Jasper, died Friday (October 14) at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Jasper April 23, 1942, to Leonard and Rose (Ebert) Schepers. He married Virlee Hochgesang October 1, 1988, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

Cletus served with the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked at Aristokraft and Jasper Cabinet and in light maintenance at Holy Family School and Old National Bank. He was a member of Holy Family Church, and was a past member of the Jasper Moose and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed walking and listening to country music.

He is survived by his wife, Virlee Schepers; one sister, Ardella Durcholz and husband Sylvester “Bud,” Ireland; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy, Clarence, and Ralph Schepers.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Church with entombment to following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. American Legion Post No. 147 will conduct military graveside rights.
