Voter Registration Ends Today; Early Voting Begins Tomorrow (AUDIO)

Jasper (NNDC) – Eligible Indiana residents who want to voite in the upcoming general election must be registered by the end of the day today (Tuesday).

Dubois County Clerk Bridgette Jarboe there are two ways you can still register to vote…

In order to register to vote in Indiana, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen and Indiana resident
  • Be at least 18 years or older by November 8
  • Not be in prison after being convicted of a crime
  • Live in the precinct where you will vote for at least 30 days before the election

Jarboe says once you are registered, all you need to do to vote is show up at your precinct with a government-issued photo ID such as your driver’s license, photo ID card, military ID or passport.

Also, Jarboe says registered voters can begin casting early ballots in-person beginning tomorrow…

Completed mail-in ballots must be returned to county officials by October 31.

Jarboe says registered voters can also vote at the Dubois County Courthouse on Saturday, October 29th and November 5th from 8AM to 3PM as well as on Monday, November 7th from 8AM to 12N.

Early voting at what are called “satellite” locations.  They are:

The Jasper Fire Department Station 3 at 118 35th Street on Monday, October 31st to Friday, November 4th from 10AM to 6PM as well as on Saturday, October 29th and Saturday, November 5th from 8am to 12N.

The Huntingburg Event Center at 200 E. 14th Street on Saturday, October 29th and Saturday, November 5th from 8AM to 12N.

The Ferdinand Community Center at 1710 Community Drive on Saturday, October 29th and Saturday, November 5th from 8AM to 12N.

The Dubois Library at 5506 Main Street on Saturday, October 29th and Saturday, November 5th from 8AM to 12N.

St. Henry Fire Station, 1211 West 1100 South on Monday, October 31st from 10AM to 6PM.

Birdseye Fire Station, 9 W. First St., on Tuesday, November 1st from 10AM to 6PM.

Schnellville Fire Station, 8090 E. Schnellville Road, on Wednesday, November 2nd from 10AM to 6PM.

Haysville Fire Station, 177 W. Indiana 56, on Thursday, November 3rd from 10AM to 6PM.

Dubois Library on Friday, November 4 from 10AM to 6PM.

Jarboe says mail-in absentee ballots must be requested by 11:59 p.m. Monday, October 31st.

The deadline to apply for voting absentee before the Dubois County “Travel Board” 12N Monday, November 7th.
