Mary Louise Heidorn, 95, Huntingburg

mary-heidornMary Louise Heidorn, 95, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (October 5) The Waters of Huntingburg Nursing Center in Huntingburg. She was born in Huntingburg June 26, 1921, to John and Catherine (Hoffman) Schaefer. She married Emory H. Heidorn August 17, 1940, at St. Mary’s Rectory in Huntingburg. He died May 24, 1960.

Mary worked at the Huntingburg VFW Post No. 2366 as a cook and retired from the dietary department of St. Joseph’s Hospital where she worked for 20 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and its Ladies Sodality, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Jim Heidorn and wife Marilyn, Huntingburg; one daughter, Donna Schneider and husband Lee, St. Anthony; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Gary Heidorn, four sisters, Pearl Lindauer, Florence Lueken, and Ethel and Leona Pfaff; and one brother, Walter Schaefer.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary prayer service will be led by Deacon Tom Holsworth at 3:30 p.m. Sunday and VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Monday at St. Mary’s with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.
