The large crowd gathered at the Event Center is here to pay homage to Ken Sendelweck.

The long-time to executive at both Kimball International and German America Bank was presented the 24th annual Distinguished Citizen Award by the Lincoln Heritage District Boy Scouts’ Buffalo Trace Council.

After several speakers, including his two daughters, talked about the impact Sendelweck has had on the Dubois County community during his lifetime, his nephew Peyton Gentry, an Eagle Scout, a freshman at IU was given the honor of formally presenting the award to his uncle Wednesday night. The 62-year old Sendleweck himself was not able to be a boy scout while growing up in Ireland, but his parents did teach him to follow the scout creed of always doing his best while fulfilling his duty to God and country…(SENDELWECK TALKING ABOUT HOW HONORED HE IS FOR THE AWARD)

In recent years, Sendelweck has also been award the Foundation of Jasper Award for his service to the city. He is also a past reciptient of the Jasper Chamber’s President’s Community Excellence Award
