Kenneth R. Pancake, 76, Winslow

ken-pancakeKenneth R. Pancake, 76, of Winslow, died Monday (October 3) at his home. He was born in Dubois County January 29, 1940, to Alva and Margaret (Eilert) Pancake. He married Marilyn Jones June 25, 1966, at Velpen.

Kenneth graduated from Otwell High School and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of the Winslow General Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Pancake; two daughters, Cynthia Roberts and husband Daniel, Dillwyn, Virginia, and Teresa Arteberry and husband Eric, White House, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Chelsea Roberts and Brett Arteberry; three brothers, Louis Pancake and wife Mary and Marvin Pancake wife Shirley, all of Velpen, and Roger Pancake and wife Terry, Jasper; and one sister, Mildred Neukam and husband Bill, Dubois.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Pancake, one step-sister, Joyce Allgood, and his step-mother, Ada Pancake.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winslow General Baptist Church or to a favorite charity. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Velpen. Rev. Terry Beadles will officiate. VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military graveside rites.
