Evansville Harrison 3  Southridge 2

At Evansville, the Raiders drop their first match of the season with a hard-fought loss to the Warriors.

Harrison led 2-1 at halftime.  The Raiders scored minutes into the second half and took a 2-2 tie all the way to just under five minutes left in the game.

Harrison then scored on a corner kick and held out for a 3-2 win.

Southridge coach Ryan Wallace says even with the loss, this was the best the Raiders have played all season.

Scoring for Southridge were Josue Ramirez (1 goal, 1 assist), Jonathan Escobar (1 goal), and Alex Posada had 1 assist. In just his second start in the net, Raider goalkeeper Melvin Orellana had 9 saves and allowed 3 goals.

Floyd Central 4  Jasper 2

At Floyd Knobs, the Highlanders scored the first goal 12 minutes into the contest.  Jasper tied the game eight minutes later with an Olivia Ruckriegel goal assisted by Annie Stout.   Floyd Central took a 2-1 halftime lead with a late 1st half goal.   With 11 minutes left in the match, Anna Charron made a nice pass to Annie Stout who connected on a far post shot to tie the match at 2-2.   The play continued to be back and forth until the Highlanders were able to find the back of the net with just three minutes remaining, and then again off a corner kick with 22 seconds remaining.   Jasper moves to 4-2 on the season and travels to the Bloomington Hoosier Cup on Friday night where they will face 1A #1 ranked Evansville Mater Dei.
