Ethel Mae Raney, 70, Jasper

EthelEthel Mae Raney, 70, of Jasper, died Tuesday (August 30) at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Boone Township to Elmer and Myrtle (Schnarr) Haycox.  She married Roy Gene Raney July 1, 1967, at Alfordsville Methodist Church.

Ethel Mae was a graduate of Ireland High School and Indiana Business College at Vincennes. She retired from Crane Naval Weapons Systems where she worked for many years. She was a member of  Alfordsville Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Gene Raney; one son, Jeff Raney and wife Elizabeth, Alfordsville; two grandsons, Nicholas and Zachary; two sisters, Anna Hedrick, Washington, and Hazel Whitney and husband Ish, Mooresville; and two brothers, George William Haycox, Jasper, and Jim Haycox, Speedway.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Kamplain.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to a favorite charity. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial following in the Portersville Cemetery. Rev. Marvin Arvin and Rev. Alfred Helms will officiate.
