Eagle Scout Project Called “Inspiring!” (VIDEO)

Jasper (NNDC) – An Eagle Scout candidate’s community service project becomes inspiration for two local civic groups and the Buffalo¬†Trace Council #182 to come together in the effort….

TEXT OF SCRIPT…

ABout two dozen volunteers were on hand Wednesday to help put in place an adult physical fitness area at Jasper’s Lion’s Park.
When Jasper High School junior Nick Hedinger made it his Eagle Scout project when he heard the local Lion’s Club wanted to utilize unused space at the park and came up with the idea of an adult fitness park…(Nick Hedinger on camera)
The volunteers are putting down 21 cubic yards of mulch for the area’s base… that’s on the bottom… on top…(Nick on camera)

Nick’s dad Kurt is here; here’s a member of the Lions Club, so to Dr. Alan Johnson, who a Jasper Rotarian. Johnson says Nick’s project is insprining… (Alan on camera)

Now with the new fitness area complete, Nick hopes to be installed as an Eagle Scout later this fall.
