State Fair Ends On Record Day

Indianapolis (WEHT/NNDC) – The Indiana State Fair comes to an end with a record day thanks to a picture perfect Sunday.

Fair officials are reporting a final day attendance of 83,148 people, making this year’s total attendance 731, 543.

Fair attendance was down over 19 percent compared to last year, and fair officials believe the weather had a lot to do with that.

In the last 17 days since the fair began, there were nine days of precipitation and a heat index near 90 degrees.

Fair officials are also pleased that Sunday’s numbers helped rake in a total of $10 million for the renovation of the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
