Harold V. “Harry” Kleiser, 88, Jasper

Harold KleiserHarold V. “Harry” Kleiser, 88, of Jasper, died Thursday (August 11) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born in Fulda August 30, 1927, to Frank and Josephine (Gudorf) Kleiser, the oldest of 12 children. He married Georgia A. Cresgy July 16, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. She died November 24, 2015.

Harry was a lifelong employee of Ruxer Ford in Jasper. He worked in the Ruxer service department and was known as “the radiator man”. He was a member of St. Joseph Churchr, Jasper Outdoor Recreation, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Washington, and a lifetime member of the Jasper Moose. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his trips to South Dakota for pheasant hunting, and weekends and holidays at the camp on the White River where family and friends gathered.

He is survived by three sisters, Pauline (Englert and husband Hilary, Ferdinand, Betty Overstreet and husband Sam, Owasso, Oklahoma, and Shirley Bartley and husband Larry, Jasper; three brothers, Donald Kleiser and wife Jane and Frank Kleiser and wife Bev, all of Jasper, and Earl Kleiser and wife Carmen, Williamsburg, Virginia; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Kleiser, Lucille Schuetter, and Mary Ann Prance, and two brothers, Leroy and Alfred Kleiser.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, Northwood Retirement Community, or to a favorite charity.
