Lawrence E. “Larry” Stenftenagel, 73, Jasper

Larry StenftenagelLawrence E. “Larry” Stenftenagel, 73, of Jasper, died Sunday (August 7) at his home. He was born in Jasper August 5, 1943, to Roman and Lilla Mae (Hopf) Stenftenagel.

Larry was a 1961 graduate of Jasper High School. He worked as a machinist at Dubois Machine Company for 35 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Jasper Moose. He enjoyed computers and loved spending time with his great nieces and nephews. He enjoyed watching baseball and basketball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Indiana University fan.

He is survived by four sisters, Donna Schuetter and husband, Jerry, Joyce Stenftenagel, Cindy Meyer and husband, Jerry, and Brenda Gehlhausen and husband, Rod, all of Jasper; four brothers, Melvin Stenftenagel and fiance Pat Waninger and Joe Stenftenagel and wife Deb, all of Jasper, Gerald Stenftenagel and wife, Julie, St. Anthony, and John Stenftenagel, Huntingburg; nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Stenftenagel.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a favorite charity. Condolences may be made at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
