Andrew “Andy” Albertson, 88, Jasper

Andy AlberrtsonAndrew “Andy” Albertson, 88, of Jasper, died Friday (August 5) at The Waters of Huntingburg. He was born in Boswell to Andrew Sr. and Florence (Sturgeon) Albertson. He married Colleen Mounce December 12, 1945, in Kentland. She died December 26, 1998.

Andy was part owner and operator of Ireland Feed and Grain and A & J F Feed Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Loogootee American Legion Post No. 120 and the Mitchell VFW Post No. 9107. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, and early morning walks. He is survived by one daughter, Terry Fitch and husband Toby, Cannelburg; two sons, Mike Albertson, Loogootee and Bob Albertson, Jasper; four grandchildren, four grandchildren, Carrie and Brooke Albertson, Kelly Ash, and Bryce Fitch; two great-grandchildren, Trey Baker and Teagan Ash; two sisters, Pat Hainje and Margaret Dewinger and husband Don, all of Lafayette; one brother, Darrel Albertson and wife Mary, Wichita Falls, Texas; and 14 half-brothers and sisters.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, Carol, Bill, and Frank Albertson.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Humane Society or to a favorite local charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Loogootee American Legion Post will conduct military gravesite rites. Pastor Cindy Lagle will officiate.
