James M. Dillon, 80, Otwell

James DillonJames M. Dillon, 80, of Otwell, died Monday (August 1) at the VA Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Pike County August 4, 1935, to Tony B. and Marjorie M. (DeMotte) Dillon.

James was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the secret service behind the Iron
Curtain during his time in Berlin, Germany. He was an iron worker and a truck driver. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post No. 3587, and a member of American Legion Post No. 147, the Jasper Moose, the Eagles of Huntingburg, and the Florida Race Horse Association. He enjoyed riding horses.

He is survived by one sister, Vivian Reed, Otwell; four brothers, Horace Dillon and wife Joyce and Norman Dillon and wife, Phyllis, all of Otwell, Lowell Dillon, Huntingburg, and Roger Dillon, Washington: and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Dillion, three half-sisters, Clarabelle Sheldon, Ninalea Lottes, and Virginia Traylor, and one half-brother, Sylvester “Sonny” Dillon.

Private funeral services were held at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home in Jasper.
