Eleanor K. Wallhauser, 82, Jasper

Eleanor WallhauserEleanor K. Wallhauser, 82, of Jasper, died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in St. Anthony March 12, 1934, to Leo and Agnes (Klem) Wallhauser.

Eleanor was a housekeeper and nanny in Louisville for many years before returning to Indiana. She was a tissue donor, a faithful mass participant at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper, and enjoyed praying the rosary, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and embroidery.

She is survived by her niece and caregivers, Rose (Vince) Durcholz and husband Vince, St. Anthony; three nephews, Gene (Jan) Wallhauser and wife Jan, Huntingburg, Dennis Wallhauser, Jasper, and Robert Wallhauser, St. Anthony; and one brother-in-law, Ed Prechtel, Jasper.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juliana Prechtel and Dorothy Wallhauser, an one brother, Albert Wallhauser.

Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements.
