Freida M. Kunz, 94, Jasper

Frieda KunzFreida M. Kunz, 94, of Jasper, died Saturday (July 30) at her daughter’s home in Evansville. She was born in Dubois January 12, 1922, to Ben and Anna (Nonte)
Kempf. She married Franklin Kunz September 19, 1946, at St. Raphael’s Catholic
Church in Dubois. He died November 4, 2002.

Freida was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, needlework, and readying.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Wells and husband Earl, Evansville, and Margaret Gerlach and husband Kevin, Crystal Lake, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kurt Wells, Kara Morley, and Stephanie and Jeremy Gerlach; Eight great-grandchildren,
Caroline, Whitney, and Cannon Wells, James, Abby, and Maggie Morley and Audrey and Jeffrey Gerlach; two sisters, Sr. Christine Kempf, OSB, Ferdinand, and Alice Kalb, Seneca, South Carolina.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, James Allen Kunz, two sisters, Mathilda Dinwiddie and Genevieve Otto, and two brothers; Emil and Sylvester Kempf.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, the Sisters of St. Benedict, Heart to Heart Hospice, or to a favorite charity. Condolences may be made at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church with burial following in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Ireland.
