Irma Jean Hasenour, 75, Huntingburg

Irma Hasenour useIrma Jean Hasenour, 75, of Huntingburg, died Saturday (June 25) at her home. She was born in Schnellville March 6, 1941, to Albert and Emma (Schnell) Welp. She married Allen Edward Hasenour May 19, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. He died March 20, 2005.

Allen and Irma were lifelong farmers and started Hasenour Organics in 2003. Irma loved spending time with her children, grandkids, and great grandkids, crocheting, baking, and being a homemaker. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the St. Henry Christian Mothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheila and husband Jim, Lamar, and Linda Gehlhausen and husband Duane, Huntingburg; three sons, Chris Hasenour and wife Angie, and Tim Hasenour, all of Huntingburg, and David Hasenour, Ferdinand; three sisters, Mary Catherine Persohn, Jasper, Doris Birk and husband Bill, Brownsburg, and LaVerne Uebelhor and husband Jim, Ferdinand; one brother, Marvin Welp and wife Mary Fae, Schnellville; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Neuhoff, three grandchildren, Brad and Nicole Grass and Curtis Hasenour, and one great-grandchild, Alyse Grass.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to family wishes. Condolences may be shared online at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jack Durchholz.
