Raphael “Rafe” Fleck, 66, Jasper

Rafe Fleck useRaphael “Rafe” Fleck, 66, of Jasper, died Saturday at his home. He was born in Washington September 9, 1949, to Harold and Venita (Schuler) Fleck. He married  Linda Jacobs September 11, 1971, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper.

Rafe was a 1967 graduate of Jasper High School. He was a U.ZS. Navy veteran and served two terms in Vietnam on the USS Theodore E. Chandler. He retired from the Jasper City Power Plant where he worked for over 40 years and served as superintendant for several years. He also delivered appliances for Sears for over 20 years. He was a member of Precious Blood Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 673 in Jasper. He enjoyed his grandchildren, woodworking, and his John Deere tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Fleck; two daughters, Kim Fleck, Lamar, and Angie Persohn and husband Bart, St. Anthony; one son, Josh Fleck , Celestine; three grandchildren, Jacob, Will, and Lea; three sisters Dianna Wilson and husband William, Loogootee, Carol Lanman, Huntingburg, and Marilyn Rasche and husband George,Dubois; and two brothers, Michael Fleck and wife Debbie, Huntingburg, and Joseph Fleck, Jasper.

Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel  in  Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Church, the Lange Fuhs Cancer Center, or to a favorite charity. Online Condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com. Funerral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Precious Blood Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Jasper. VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military graveside rites.
