What A Night For Man Who Crashes Pickup; Falls Asleep In Nearby Garage

PateHolland (NNDC) – What a night for a man who is now facing several charges, including a felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 33-year old Joshua Pate, no address given, apparently crashed his pickup truck along Holland Road Northeast just south of West 750 South.   The truck was discovered on fire at about 1:00AM Friday (this) morning.  When deputies and firefighters arrived on scene, there was no driver with the truck.

Then, at about 5:45AM, a resident living along South 600 West called DCSD to tell they a male subject was in their garage.   The caller told DCSD the male subject was obviously injured.

The man, later identified as Pate, fled the area when confronted by the property owner.

DCSD says deputies and the department’s K-9 “Judge” located Pate in a Woodline about 500 yards from the residence.

Pate was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Jasper and later transferred by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

DCSD says charges will be filed against Pate for Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction (Class A misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia (Class B misdemeanor), two counts of Possession of
a controlled substance (Class A misdemeanor), and Possession of Methamphetamine, (Level 6 felony).
