No One Injured After Car Crashes Into House Near Ireland

Ireland (NNDC) – No one was hurt after a car crashes into a house west of Ireland.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 29-year old Bond Weissmann of Washington was traveling eastbound on Indiana 56 at about 5:00 Monday morning when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

DCSD says the car Weissman was driving crossed the centerline and ran off the north side of the highway where the car struck a mailbox and continued through a yard before it collided with a house in the 6100 block of Indiana 56 just west of North 600 West; west of the Wright-Stemle dealership.

DCSD says Weissmann got out of the car under his own power.  He declined treatment at the scene.

DCSD says there was someone in the house at the time, however, that person was not injured.

Damage to the car and house was estimated at $30,000.
