Jasper (NNDC) – A Jasper man now faces several charges including one felony after his arrest late Monday night.

Jasper officers were called to the home of 34-year old Jonathan Hunsicker in the 2500 block of Birk Drive on a call of a possible intoxicated driver.

When officers arrived at the home, they found Hunsicker on the front porch of the home making verbal and text message threats to the complainant inside.

JPD says officers tried to get Hunsicker to move off the porch on his own, but instead he became belligerent and started yelling obscenities at the officers.

JPD says Hunsicker became combative and had to be taken to the ground by officers.  He continued to struggle with officers while on the ground so police say they had to use a stun gun on Hunsicker in order to get him to comply though he remained belligerent the entire time, according to officers.

Police later discovered Hunsicker was an habitual traffic offender. Police say he left the home and drove while intoxicated before officers arrived at this home.

Tests done later at Memorial Hospital found Hunsicker’s blood alcohol content at .18%. Police say THC was also found in his system.

Hunsicker has been charged with a Level 6 felony count of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Being An Habitual traffic offender. He also faces misdemeanor counts of Operating While Intoxicated, OWI over .15% OWI while endangering others, Resisting Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct and Intimidation.
