Otwell Woman Arrested For Shoplifting; Meth Possession

Jasper (NNDC) – A Pike County woman now faces theft and drug possession charges in Dubois County.

Jasper police arrested 40-year old Jacqueline Almon of Otwell Thursday afternoon.

JPD says she was detained by WalMart store security for suspected shoplifting.

Police then allegedly found methamphetamine in Almon’s purse along with a glass smoking pipe. JPD says the pipe had residue in it.

Almon is charged with a Level 6 felony counts of Possession of Methamphetamie along with misdemeanor counts of Theft and Posession of Paraphernalia.

JPD says Almon allegedly tried to steal items that totalled less than $68.00. The items included glasses, paper clips, breath strips and a dog harness.

Habitual Traffic Offender Caught With Marijuana In Trunk Of Car

Jasper (NNDC) – A traffic stop has landed an Evansville man in jail in Dubois County.

Jasper police arrested 52-year old James Fowler shortly before 5:00PM Thursday after they say they found him to be in possession of marijuana.

JPD says Fowler’s car was pulled over near 5th Street and Scott Rolen Driver for allegedly having a license plate that was registered for a different vehicle.

JPD says during a subsequent search of Fowler’s car, the department’s K-9 Ares, detected the presence of marijuana of which 23 grams was located in the car’s trunk.

Fowler has been charged with a Level 5 felony count of Driving While Classified as an Habitual Traffic Violator for Life and a misdemeanor count of Possession of Marijuana.
