Anthony H. “Tony” Buschkoetter, 79, Huntingburg

Anthony BushkoetterAnthony H. “Tony” Buschkoetter, 79, of Huntingburg, died Thursday (May 19) at his home. He was born in St. Anthony March 10, 1937, to Ben and Lucilla (Heim) Buschkoetter.  He married Mary Lou Sermersheim October 3, 1959, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Tony was a farmer and worked as a foreman at Jasper Corporation for 20 years. In 1975 he retired from Jasper Corporation and started farming full-time. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

He is survived by two sons, Rod Buschkoetter and wife Diane, Lake St. Louis, Missouri, and Ryan Buschkoetter, Huntingburg; two sisters, Lilian Sickbert and husband Art, Jasper, and Mary Lou Sander and husband Albert, Huntingburg; three brothers, Charles Buschkoetter and wife Wanda, Jasper, Paul Buschkoetter, Petersburg, and Ben Buschkoetter, Jr. and wife Deb, Petersburg; brother-in-law Bob Veller, Florida; sisters-in-law Sharon Buschkoetter, Jasper, and Marsha Buschkoetter, Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Kyle, Craig, Andrea, Zach, and Doug Buschkoetter; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call for from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary prayer vigil at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Church or to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be shared online at Funeral services at 12:30 p.m. (EDT) Monday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
