Jasper Man Arrested After A Fight; Police Say One Victim Was His Pregnant Sister



Jasper (NNDC) – An apparent argument among a local man, his pregnant sister and her boyfriend turned physical and ended with one of the three involved in jail.

Jasper police say at about 10 o’clock Friday night, they were called to a fight in progress at a home in the 1400 block of Newton Street.

There police found an argument and fight among three people had taken place and one of the three involved had fled the scene.

Police that man is 22-year old Stephen Jessee who lives at the home where the altercation took place.

JPD says during the incident, Jessee struck his pregnant sister which caused her to fall back and strike a shelf with her head.

Police say Jessee then started fighting with his sister’s boyfriend and attempted to choke him.

Police did locate Jessee not far from the house after they arrived on scene.

All three were checked out at the house by EMTs.

Jessee was taken to Memorial Hospital for injuries he suffered during the altercation and because of his level of intoxication, according to JPD.

Police say Jessee made suicidal statements at the house and was belligerent both at the house and later at the hospital.

He was eventually psychologically cleared and taken to the Dubois County Security Center.

His is charged with Felony Strangulation, Battery and three counts of Disorderly Conduct.
