Mary Margaret “Peggy” Haugh, 84, Jasper

PegMary Margaret “Peggy” Haugh, 84, of Jasper, died Friday (May 13) at St Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. She was born in Glenn Ellyn, Illinois, May 8, 1932, to Harold and Anne Napier.

Peggy attended St. Patrick School and graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute. She also attended Indiana University. Peggy worked as a title one assistant at Davis Park Elementary in Terre Haute and for 24 years at Hamilton Center Children’s Learning Center with Early Head Start. She retired in 2003. She moved to Jasper in 2008 where she was active at the Habig Center. She enjoyed devoting time to her family, home, and garden.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Buck and husband Ken, Jasper, and Margaret Crellin and husband Bill, Orlando, Florida; four sons, John Vidal, Cape Coral, Florida, and Daniel, Andrew, and Tony Vidal, all of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, Dan Buck and wife Brandi, Jasper, Joe Buck and wife Joanna, Miami Beach, Florida, Erin Vinacke and husband Aric, Sanford, Florida, Bill Crellin and wife Jenna, Orlando, Florida, Christopher Vidal, Lexington, North Carolina, and Matthew, Lauren, Hayden, and Patrick Vidal, all of Terre Haute; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John Napier, Jensen Beach, Florida; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eamer Haugh, one sister, Patsy Nutall, and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Napier.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, June 4, at the Callahan-Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street in Terre Haute. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arnold F. Habig Older American Center or the Jasper Humane Society.
