Southridge To Play In Lucas Oil High School Football Showcase

Huntingburg (NNDC) – Southridge has accepted an invitation to play one of its regular-season football games this fall at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The game will be against Pocket Athletic Conference foe North Posey. The will be part of a three-high school football showcase hosted by Indianapolis-based Compton Strategies.

The was scheduled as a home game for North Posey but will now be played at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, September 10th.

Two other games will be part of the showcase. One will feature another PAC team Gibson Southern who will play Henderson County (Kentucky).

The third game pits North Vermillion against Linton-Stockton in game that features teams that have been in the Class A state championship final the last two years.

Gametimes have not been announced.

Southridge is 3-0 against the Vikings since Scott Buening was hired at the Raiders head coach, including last year’s lopsided Southridge win 52-14

Both teams were 8-4 a year ago and both come up short in their respective Class 2A sectional championship games.

The Raiders finished last fall 8-4 and Posey 4-8. Both lost in its respective Class 2A sectional championship games.

Gibson finished 13-1 last season and was ranked #1 in 3A before falling to Indianapolis Bishop Chatard 29-20 in the state semifinals.

Comption Strategies is a sports marketing firm that has hosted these high school football showcases for several years now.

Jasper participated in the event in 2013 beating Vincennes Lincoln 60-6.
