Street Crews Already Out Picking Up Storm Debris (AUDIO)

Jasper (NNDC) – Most of the widespread damage from Saturday night’s severe thunderstorm was mostly downed trees, branches and limbs; some of it causing damage to nearby homes and even cars.

In response to the damage, street departments from both Jasper and Huntingburg are already out Monday morning picking up storm debris.

Jasper street superintendent Jeff Theising says his crews were already out very early Monday Morning…

Theising says crews are canvassing the city as they pick up the storm debris, however, residents can call the street department office at 812-482-1130 and give their name and address so a pickup can be scheduled.

Meanwhile Huntingburg street superintendent Jason Stamm says his crews will also be out starting today.  He is asking residents to get the debris as close to the curbside as possible…

Stamm says Huntingburg residents must call City Hall at 683-2211 and give their address to the receptionist.

In Ferdinand regular trash collection is continuing today. Town officials say if warranted they may add additional collections this week for storm debris.

Street crews in both Jasper and Huntingburg will be collecting storm debris all week.
