Southridge Sports Awards Presented; Voegerl Named Bretz Outstanding Athlete

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The annual Southridge High School All-Sports Awards banquet was held Tuesday evening at Reflections Banquet Hall.

Kayla Voegerl was presented the John M. Bretz Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.  Voegerl a three-sport standout for the Lady Raiders finished her high school basketball career as Southridge’s third leading all-time scorer.

Mitchell Mundy was presented the Outstanding Senior Athlete for the boys.  Mundy, also a multi-sport athlete was a three-time sectional winner in wrestling.  He was captain of the team that won its first team sectional since 2009 this past winter.  He was also academic All-State in football.

Other award winners from Tuesday night included Peyton Mattingly who was presented the Tom Fuhs Mental Attitude Award.

The Lady Raider Mental Attitude Award went to Taylor Neukam.

Letter Blanket winners were Baily Barrett and Sidney Altmeyer.

And long-time Southridge athletic department volunteer Don Summers was presented the Jim Bardwell “Spirit of Southridge” award.
