Ralph Dean Hilsmeyer, 90, Holland

HillsmeyerRalph Dean Hilsmeyer, 90, of Holland, died Monday (May 2) at Brookside Village in Jasper. He was born in Holland August 31, 1925, to John and Violet (Rauscher) Hilsmeyer. Ralph was employed at Holland Dairy for 45 years and retired as a branch manager. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church and Holland American Legion Post No. 343, was an avid sports fan who followed the Dodgers, Cardinals, and Indiana University sports, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting endeavors.

He is survived by one son, Tom Hilsmeyer and wife Carolyn, Jasper; three daughters, Cheryl Hilsmeyer and husband Tim, Stendal, Jayne McKain, Evansville, and Denis Oser and husband Keith, Holland; one brother, Russ Hilsmeyer, Holland; three sisters, Joan Hilsmeyer and Doris Partenheimer, both of Holland, and Alice Coleman, Washington; seven grandchildren, Bryan McKain and wife Lindsy, Boonville, Ryan McKain and wife Meagan, Evansville, Jamie McKain Crick and husband Ryan, New Albany, Justin Hilsmeyer, Holland, Brooke Hilsmeyer Harris and husband Ryan, San Jose, California, McKenzie Hilsmeyer, Jasper, and Kate Oser, Holland; and five great-grandchildren, Jaxon McKain and Brie McKain, Nolan Harris, and Harrison and Houston Crick.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalee Marie (Hollander) Hilsmeyer, who died April 10, 1998, and one sister, Dorothy Partenheimer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. (EDT) Friday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Holland United Methodist Church. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holland United Methodist Church with burial following in the Dale Cemetery. The American Legion Post No. 343 memorial detail will conduct military graveside rites. Rev. Keith Chanley will officiate at the service.
