UPDATED: Death Investigation Underway; Not Believed To Be “Foul Play”

UPDATED:  Haysville (Local Sources) – Indiana Conservation Officers are conducting a death investigation in Dubois County.  Kenneth Gauker (43) of Plainfield, IN was found by family members in the shallow part of a private pond north of Jasper near County Road 600 North.

Dubois County Dispatch received the call at approximately 6:30 pm on April 13th 2016.

An autopsy was conducted this morning at 9:00 am at the Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home.

Responding agencies included the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, Jasper Memorial EMS, Haysville First Responders, Haysville Fire Department, The Dubois County Coroner and Indiana Conservation Officers.

It is not known at this time how or why Gauker entered the water, but no foul play is expected.

ORIGINAL STORY

Haysville (NNDC) – The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is investigation the death of an adult male found early Wednesday evening near a lake on private property along (200 block of) West 600 North about two miles north of the Jasper area.

Deputies, along with Haysville first responders and the Dubois County Coroner’s Office, were called to the scene at about 6:20PM.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene.

DCSD says an autopsy and toxicology testing will take place to determine a cause and time of death. The death is not believed to be criminal in nature and no foul play is suspected at this time.
