Huntingburg (NNDC) – Traffic along East 19th Street in Huntingburg is being slowed down as the speed limit is being lowered from 35 miles and hour to 25 miles an hour between Woodlands Drive and South 400 West.

Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner says that section of 19th Street, once known as County Road West 450 South, is now part of the city, and city ordinance mandates the speed limit on city streets be no more than 25 miles an hour…

The Huntingburg Board of Public Works approved the reduced speed limit when it met this (Thursday) morning. The reduced speed limit goes into affect Monday morning.

PATBERGAlso this morning, a check for $4000 was presented to Huntingburg Fire Chief Scott Paberg from the Huntingburg Merchants Association.

HMA president Linda Gehlhausen made the presentation to Patberg during this morning’s Board of Public Works meeting (pictured).

Gehlhausen says the proceeds came from the Merchants’ recently completed 2nd Annual Spring Gala.

The money will be used to upgrade equipment for the fire department.
