CARES To Address Youth Alcohol and Drug Abuse

DC CARESDUBOIS COUNTY (From Sources) – The newly formed Dubois County Coalition for Adolescent Resilience and Empowerment Strategies (CARES) is addressing local issues of alcohol and drug use among county youths.

Four town hall style meetings or community conversations will be held in each of the four school districts in Dubois County. The first meeting will be held Monday night, April 4, at Dubois Middle School.

The four meetings, which will begin at 7 p.m. at each of the locations, will focus on how alcohol and drug use, specifically marijuana, is impacting local youth, families, and Dubois County as a whole.

The second meeting will be held April 13 at Jasper Middle School, the third on April 28 in the Southridge High School auditorium, and the fourth and final meeting April 27 a5t the Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand.

All meetings are free and open to the public. Parents, grandparents, community members, and those who work with youth are encouraged to attend.
