Crash Results In Charges For Juvenile (POLICE BLOTTER)

Jasper (NNDC) – A juvenile faces charges after police say the juvenile was driving crashed into a parked vehicle early Friday morning.

Jasper police say the juvenile (in Indiana, a juvenile is someone 16 and younger) was driving westbound in the 1300 block of 2nd Street from St. Charles when the juvenile’s car rear-ended a parked car. The parked car owned by Gregory Robling.

Both cars were heavily damaged.

The juvenile faces charges in juvenile court.

Huntingburg Man Arrested For Driving Without Insurance

Jasper (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man was arrested Wednesday after police discovered he was driving without insurance.

ROTTETJasper police says a car driven by 27-year old Johnathon Rottet of Huntingburg was pulled over late Wednesday afternoon near 14th and Newton streets after police say his car was seen going left of center and did not use turn signals when changing lanes.

During the traffic stop, officers discovered Rottet was driving without insurance. Then before the car was towed from the scene, police say a search of the vehicle discovered drug paraphernalia inside and what police describe as “burnt residue.”

Police say Rottet admitted the paraphernalia was his and he also alleged admitted to smoking synthetic drugs before the traffic stop.

Rottet is charged with a felony count of Possession of a Synthetic Drug Or Look Alike (the charge is a felony as police say Rottet has a prior conviction on the same charge) and a felony count of Possession of Paraphernalia (police say he also has a prior conviction on this charge as well).
