No More “Headers” In Youth Soccer

Evansville (WTVW/WEHT) – Following increased awareness on the dangers of concussions in youth sports, some new rules are coming for Indiana soccer players.

Starting April 1st, players 12 and younger will no longer be allowed to “head the ball” in practice or in games.  This means bumping or passing the ball with the head.

The Indiana Soccer Association says this rule will protect players’ health and encourage long-term development of youth players.
