Two Injured In Accident Near Birdseye

Birdseye (NNDC) – Two people were injured in a two vehcile accident near Birdseye late Thursday afternoon.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says a car driven by 42-year old Amy Schaber of Birdseye was traveling south of Bergs Lane just south of the intersection with Kings Ridge Road at about 5:45PM.

DCSD says Schaber’s car was traveling at a high rate of speed and crossed the centerline and struck a northbound minivan in an offset head-on collision.

The second vehicle was driven by Kerri King also of Birdseye.

King was transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper with non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, Schaber refused treatment at the scene. but DCSD says she was later taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

Schaber was cited by DCSD for Driving Left of Center.
