Jasper Man Charged With Stealing A Knife From Local Store

Jasper (NNDC) – Jasper police say a Loogootee man has been arrested after trying to steal a knife from a local store.

Arrested Sunday evening was 45-year old Thomas Carrico. JPD says it received a report from WalMart store personnel that a man had taken a knife out of its packaging and placed it in his pocket.

At about 8:30pm Sunday, JPD says officers made contact with Carrico, detained him and he was read his rights.

JPD says moments later officers located a knife on Carrico during a “pat down.”
