Arrest Made In Burglary From Local Livestock Company

Huntingburg (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man has been charged in connection with a theft at Wilson’s Livestock Company in Huntingburg overnight.

Shortly after 7:00AM Tuesday, deputies with the Dubois County Sheriffs Department were contacted by an employee of Wilson’s Livestock in reference to a theft from the business overnight. DCSD is reporting that numerous pork products valued at approximately $200 were taken from the business the previous night.

The investigation led DCSD to a suspect who was contacted at a home in the 700 block of east 7th Street in Huntingburg.

DCSD says 50-year old Steven Volz (pictured left) was taken into custody at his residence. DCSD says the items that had been reported stolen were recovered. Volz was arrested and booked for charges of Burglary (a level 5 Felony) and Theft (a Class A Misdemeanor).

Inmate at DCSC Charged With Smoking Synthetic Marijuana In His Jail Cell

CrowemugJasper (NNDC) – An inmate at the Dubois County Security Center now faces additional charges. DCSD says its investigation in a cell block of the jail on Brucke Strasse in Jasper.

DCSD says jail Officers suspected that an inmate was smoking an illegal substance within the security center. The inmate is 26-year old Eric Crowe of Evansville.

Officers sought and were granted a search warrant to X-ray the inmate. DCSD says Crowe then removed the contraband he had concealed on him. The items discovered were a cigarette lighter and suspected synthetic marijuana.

Crowe (pictured right) is an inmate the jail for a previous arrest for Possession of Marijuana.

Crowe is now charged with Trafficking with an inmate (a Level 5 Felony) and Possesson of a Synthetic Drug (A class A Misdemeanor).
