Jasper (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man was arrested Sunday evening charged with drunk driving.

Jasper police say they were called to Heichelbech’s Restaurant & Bar about an intoxicated male subject.

JPD says 44-year old Robert Hoffman was driving away from the establishment when officers arrived on scene at about 6:00PM.

JPD says officers caught up with Hoffman’s vehicle a short time later at 3rd and Main streets.

A blood draw done at Memorial Hospital tested Hoffman’s blood alcohol content at .194%.

Hoffman is charged with misdemeanor counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, Operating While Intoxicated and Endangering Others and Operating While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. of more than .15%.

He’s also been charged with a felony count of Operating While Intoxicated with a prior conviction in the last five years.

 

Jasper Man Arrested For OWI and Driving Without A License

Jasper (NNDC) – A Jasper man has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Driver’s License.

JPD says officers stopped a vehicle near the Marathon store on north Newton street shortly after 2:00AM Sunday morning.after it was observed crossing the centerline.

JPD says a caller notified police about a possible intoxicated driver a short time earler in the area of 13th and Bartley streets.

Police say the driver of the car was 29-year old Erick Rivera-Bonilla of Jasper.

Police say Rivera-Bonilla’s blood alcohol content tested .21% at Memorial Hospital a short time later.

 

Huntingburg Woman Arrested For OWI and Driving With Suspended License

Huntingburg (NNDC) – Huntingburg police say 36-year old Heather Cullum was arrested early Saturday evening..

She’s charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Driving With a Suspended License. Her car was spotted by both witnesses and police officers crossing the centerline while southbound on Main Street (U.S. 231) at approximately 6:30PM.

HPD says officers followed her car into the parking lot of the Mor-For-Less grocery store in the 400 block of south Main.

HPD says a field sobriety test resulted in a blood alcohol content of .13%. A test done a short time later at Memorial Hospital indicated THC in Cullum’s blood and her B.A.C. was .17%.

HPD says Cullum has a prior conviction of driving with a suspended driver’s license.

 

Loogootee Woman Charged With Shoplifting; Drug Possession

Jasper (NNDC) – A Loogootee woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say she attempted to walk out of the Jasper WalMart with nearly $500 worth of merchandise.

Store officials called Jasper police to the store on north Newton street (U.S. 231) at about 5:30PM.

JPD says 52-year old Sherry Young also had nine presciption medication bottles in her possession that were not prescribed to her.

She’s charged with Theft, Possession of Schedule II, IV, and X controlled substances (all misdemeanors).

 

Orange County Teen Escapes Serious Injury In Single-Vehicle Crash Near Dubois

Dubois (NNDC) – An 18-year old male from French Lick escaped serious injury in a one-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says Zachary Bleemel was traveling north on Celestine Road North just south of Indiana 545 when he swerved his car to miss a deer he says had just walked onto the highway.

DCSD says Bleemel’s car struck a guardrail before going off the east side of Celestine Road North and down an embankment. DCSD says Bleemel was able to drive his car off the embankment and into a nearby front yard of a residence.

Bleemel refused treatment of the scene after complaining of pain to his neck. The accident happened shortly before 6:00AM Saturday.

 

Huntingburg Man Charged With Battery

Huntingburg (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man faces several charges after he asked to leave a local tavern early Saturday morning.

HPD says 28-year old Gary Hires was found by police in the alley behind Ron’s Place in the 400 block of north Van Buren street at about 3:45AM.

HPD says officers learned that Hires was involved in a battery a short time earlier.

Hines is charged with Battery, Public Intoxcation and Disorderly Conduct.
