Robert Lee Cleveland, 78, Jasper

RRobert Clevelandonald Lee Cleveland, 78, of Jasper, died Wednesday (March 2) at The Timbers of Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg March 28, 1937, to Charles and Leola (Andry) Cleveland. He was a 1955 graduate of Huntingburg High School. He married Shirley Sue Brothers October 13, 1956, in Huntingburg.

Ronald served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He held the rank of Tech Sergesnt and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a semi tractor-trailer owner and operator. He was a member of the Jasper American Legion, loved motorcylces and working on cars.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sue Cleveland; one daughter, Rhonda Hammack and husband Jeffrey, Ashburn, Virginia; two sons, Charles Cleveland and wife Deborah, Tallahassee, Florida, and Robert Cleveland, jasper; one sister, Cheryl Rupp, Indianapolis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gorge Logan and Donald Ray Cleveland; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dubois County Humane Society or to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be

shared online at: www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Dickinson will officiate at the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Scott Air Force Base Memorial Detail.
