Huntingburg (Local Sources) – “American Pickers,” a History Channel documentary series that explores antique “picking,” is currently looking for people with interesting and unique items in the Huntingburg/Holland area. The show follows two skilled “pickers,” Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, as they find antique treasures they’ve never seen before and learn the story behind the items.

One of the show’s casting associates contacted Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sara Schroeder last week to express interest in filming in the area. The chamber is currently seeking potential characters with large antique collections.

“This is such a wonderful opportunity for our community,” says Schroeder. “As one of the state’s largest antique destinations, I’m hopeful Huntingburg will be an ideal location for ‘American Pickers’ to film.”

Items of interest include (but are not limited to) vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, pre-50’s western gear, vintage musical equipment, automotive items and clothing. Items from retail shops and/or flea markets will not be considered.

If you have a large, private collection, please contact Sara Schroeder, Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, at huntingburgchamber@gmail.com or by phone at (812) 683-5699.
