Esther P. Fuhrman, 80, Loogootee

Esther FuhrmanEsther P. Fuhrman, 80, of Loogootee, died Saturday (February 27) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Shoals February 27, 1936, to Elmer and Ella (Hemmerlein) Wolf. She married Delbert J. Fuhrman October 4, 1956, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. He died October 7, 2010.

Esther was a homemaker and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and a past member of the Jasper Moose. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and her animals.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Smith and husband, Wade, Loog6ootee; three sons, Glenn Fuhrman and wife, Karen, Birdseye, and Michael and Thomas Fuhrman, both of Loogootee; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Wiseman and husband, Hoyt, Dubois, Marlene Fuhrman and husband Vic, Shoals, and Rose Hoffman and husband, Roger, Haysville; and one brother, Elmer Wolf, Jr., Dubois.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Lind and Gladys Wolf, and one stillborn brother, John Wolf.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
