Roy Stillwell, 101, Huntingburg

Roy StillwellRoy Stilwell, 101, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (February 24) at The Waters of Huntingburg Nursing Center. He was born in Huntingburg November 2, 1914, to James and Ophia (Maxey) Stilwell.

Roy retired from DMI Plant No. 5 in 1974, where he worked as a warehouse manager. He was co-owner of Roy Stilwell & Son Triumph Motorcycle Sales and Service in Huntingburg. He loved hunting, fishing, target shooting, playing checkers, and motorcycle riding.

He is survived by two sons, Jim Stillwell, Newburg, and Ray Stillwell, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Ruth Ann Flannelly, Minneapolis, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sons, Donald, Larry and Roy E. Stilwell, two sisters, Ruby Knapp and Ruth Blaylock, and two brothers, Raymond and Russell Stilwell.

Private graveside interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Nass and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no public visitation or services.
