Reckless Driving To The Hospital Ends With Loogootee Man In Jail

JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper police say a tip from the public led the arrest of a Loogootee man for several drug-related charges.

JPD says when officers caught up with the vehicle at 6th and Dorbett streets shortly before 2PM Monday, the driver said he was driving to Memorial Hospital for a medical emergency.  A female passenger was in the car with 37-year old Shane Fellers of Loogootee.

Fellers was allowed to continue on to the hospital but police followed.

Officers discovered Fellers was driving with a suspended license.

Also, JPD’s K9 Ares located three grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle along with used syringes, drug paraphernalia and Carixotrodol, a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Fellers is charge with dealing and possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.  He’s also charged with driving while suspended.

The female passenger was admitted to the hospital.
